Yes, a student may still qualify for TAP through the NYS DREAM Act, even if their parent no longer resides in New York, provided they meet certain residency and eligibility requirements on their own.

Yes, you can apply for the NYS DREAM Act while still in high school! In fact, applying early can be a good idea, as it allows you to complete the necessary steps and have everything in place by the time you start college. Your application will still require graduation date verification, but it is a good idea to finish the rest of your application in the meantime. 

If the State Education Department (SED) can verify you as a NYS student for at least 2 years, you can continue with your financial aid applications until the graduation date is verified!

Their graduation status will be verified through the State Education Department (SED). If SED is not able to verify their graduation date, the student can send in their final transcript with the graduation date listed and their diploma.
