Dear Colleague,

HESC has updated its guidance related to the New York State cost of attendance scholarships for students impacted by COVID-19 as follows:

• Any student who was initially certified as living on campus prior to COVID-19 and who left campus due to the pandemic should have their room and board allowance adjusted to a commuter student rate, effective from the date the student left campus for the remainder of the semester.
• Schools should submit amended certification rosters to HESC for processing.
• Any refunds for reductions in the room and board allowance must be returned to HESC.
