Clarification Regarding the Partial Release of 2019-20 Payments

Dear Colleague:

In the recent weeks, HESC has received a high volume of inquiries from students regarding payments that were made to schools amounting to 80 percent of remaining payments due for student certified awards for 2019-20.

To clarify, the 20 percent of payments that were temporarily withheld are not cuts to student awards, but rather a change in the payment schedule made to schools. Consequently, student awards are NOT to be reduced and schools should credit such students’ tuition for the entire amount of a student’s certified award.

Please ensure that your school’s financial aid representatives are communicating this appropriately to impacted students.
