STEM Incentive Program Scholarship Applications Available Through Aug. 15

(May 2015) Graduating seniors in the top 10 percent of their high school class who plan to pursue a STEM major at a SUNY or CUNY college may apply for a New York State Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Incentive Program scholarship through August 15, 2015.

STEM recipients receive awards equal to the annual resident tuition charged at the SUNY or CUNY college for four years of study, or five years of study for programs normally requiring five years.

Students must meet residency requirements and be enrolled full time at a SUNY or CUNY college beginning with the fall term following their high school graduation. Students must also:

  • Be matriculated in an undergraduate program leading to a degree in STEM at a SUNY or CUNY college;
  • Be ranked in the top 10 percent of their graduating class at a New York State high school;
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher each term while pursuing their undergraduate degree; and
  • Agree to both work in a STEM field and reside in New York State for five years upon completing their college education.
